Hanging on to things......

posted Mon, 11/02/09

The book has not yet arrived and I am so eager to work with this clearing up of spaces that I search for information about it. And I found this importantly now quotes in the path I am about to take....

" Hanging on to things is a way to avoid change...You've been anesthetizing yourself with things to create a false sense of stability; meanwhile, change is going on inside and around you all the time."

-Clutter Busting by Brooks Palmer

Avoiding change, all the cluttering of objects, experiences, and relationships comes to this point. Avoiding change. We want so bad this sense of stability that sometimes we pay such a high price. And we get stuck in old patterns of behaviors and of attitudes towards everything that surrounds us. Even about ourselves. And by doing this....we lose all the good that change can bring.
